Her hair was bright red, like Annie from the musical. And just like Annie, she led a hard knock life, deep down in the Latvian sewer, practising her singing, her acting and her break-dance moves. It was impossible to avoid getting nasty stains on her fur coat in the process, and obviously she coldn’t afford dry-cleaning it. She didn’ t worry to much though, she knew she was destined to be a star. Her only problem was the intense odour of excrement that followed her wherever she went. It was mainly because of the dirty fur – but if she took it off, she immediately lost contact with her inner diva, and turned into a plain Jane. So she kept on practising, in hopes that her talent one day would be developed enough to compensate for the unpleasant smell.

Forever friends/ Skype my tights
The identical twins had (almost) nothing in common.
When they were children, their mother tried
to assimilate them by dressing them alike,
but this only seemed to make them unhappy,
while the differences between them grew.
As adults they were seperated by a geographical
mountain and an emotional ocean.
Against all odds, their relationship was regenerated
when they randomly met in an online chatroom.
One thing they always remained terrified of was wearing
similar outfits – a problem that was solved
by webcams and Skype.
Though they never became as close as twins generally do,
when one died, the other followed shortly.
Some said, the grief was to blame.

Ulykken var tragisk. Fire unge liv gikk tapt, en femte mistet begge beina og sjåføren i møtende kjøretøy slet med de psykiske senvanskene resten av livet (som hun for øvrig endte med en overdose sovetabletter). Den benløse 17-åringen gikk på sin side gjennom de klassiske sorgfasene. Først sjokk og reaksjon, så en lang periode med bearbeiding (13 hele år med intensiv samtaleterapi) og til sist – nyorientering. Han dro til Kenya, hvor han ble voldsomt inspirert av de fattige kvegbøndene. Drømmen om å leve nøyaktig som dem måtte han gi opp, dels fordi han ikke kunne gå, dels fordi han ikke tålte klimaet. Løsningen ble tv-programmet ”Jakten på kjærligheten”, og en godhjertet, barnløs enke fra vestlandet med et lite, men velfungerende gårdsbruk. Hele landet fulgte med da hun valgte seg krøplingen i siste episode, og sammen levde de tilsynelatende dysfunksjonelt, men i virkeligheten relativt lykkelig, resten av livet.

Panting / no pants
She loved the sound of shattering glass. For some obscure reason, it soothed her soul and eased her mind. Having bottles to break became an important item on her to-do list. It was a time-consuming activity, that often earned her disgusted looks from people passing by, as she rummaged through trash and stole empty bottles from passed out homeless. For a while, the high she felt when throwing glass in the recycling bin was enough to keep her going, but she gradually became aware of the insanity of her behaviour. This realization, in turn, made her depressed. So, she started drinking heavily. A pleasant advantage of her dependency upon alcohol, was that she always had an empty bottle available.
