After his dramatic escape from Ukrainian prison, Bolek used his guitar to play his way through Europe. Though he met plenty of interesting people – backpackers, prostitutes and busted brokers – he never shared bed with anyone, using his loneliness to make beautiful music.
Bolek first met Juan in Fortuna, Spain. Originally from Madrid, Juan had come to Fortuna in hopes that the thermal springs would have a healing effect on his chronic eczema. Of course, he was disappointed. But Boleks tender tunes miraculously forced the redness and itch give way for a strikingly even tan.
Their infatuation grew to a deep, everlasting love – but Juan never quite trusted Bolek would not leave him , for in their happy life together, the music lost its exceptional nerve.
